Solid, bar soap has been around since 2800 BC but the history of liquid soap is relatively recent, finding popularity and commercial success in the late 19th Century. The first synthetic detergent was developed in Germany during WWI due to a shortage of fats needed (combined with lye) to make soap. This technology began to realise it's commercial potential by the end of WWII and detergents (surfactants) continue to form the backbone of most hand and body washes. The 1990's saw an explosion of antibacterial products which are now considered not only unnecessary but potentially hazardous due to the use of Triclosan.
Our traditional liquid soaps are created using quality ingredients. Palm and preservative free.
